TEN TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR TIME MANAGEMENT

You can also manage your time using all or few of the below listed tips:


Time management is one of the essential skillsets should be adopted by every individual who works especially in corporate industry to avoid unnecessary work stress and anxiety feeling to achieve the deadlines of the projects/tasks on time.

When you acquire and continue with good time management skills, in overall you will find yourself so free from the targets, very free from the work pressure/stress also you can see yourself more productive and very calm.

Now this is tricky question. “How do you manage the TIME?” Every individual is not same and, each person differ with the other person in various ways like thinking, reacting, responding, behavior wise etc. Now it is clear that we should consider that time management is not same for all individuals to follow the same set of rules to bang the hassles and pressures at work it should be treated differently by every individual based on their own nature of handling the tasks in his/her own pace and style.

I have listed top ten tips which I generally follow to manage my time very efficiently, if you feel these are great to you even then you can borrow few of them or all of these rules to achieve your time management in a better way:

  1. Start early and complete the project on time instead of procrastinating it by not prioritizing it and leaving it till the day of the dead line date which in outcomes chaos in turn results in bad time management so avoid this and prioritize things and work on them efficiently.  
  2. Creating your system or folders in computer in more organized way or in-detail to avoid the confusion arises in the future while digging for a particular file or asset from the directory or library from the laptop/system to complete the task/project.  
    1. Set your outlook (E-mail communicator) with different set of organized folders to manage your emails in a better way by running the available provision in outlook called Rules
    2. Set auto signature for new or reply or forward email to save some amount of time in tying the regards in the email 
  3. Make a to do list for every day and stick it on your desk quite opposite to your cubicle to be visible to you throughout the day so that you will not miss the task as per the do list for that particular day. You can manage the to do list not only by paper stick notes but also you can do it on your mobile phones, outlook calendar on your laptop, also you can use the sticky notes functionality in the windows operating system too.  
  4. Sometimes saying NO is also an art so learn to say NO with your boss/senior colleague for the additional tasks or projects which are going to come into your bucket but make sure you should have a proper answer/justification for saying NO to your boss or whom so ever. Be prepared for it in advance. Do not stumble while the time to act up on.  
  5. Be careful about the amount of time in wasting your office production time by browsing the unnecessary internet, chatting with friends on mobiles, or posting on social media sites or playing games on the laptop or in the office premises in the office timings, if you can keep a pinpoint on these things hopefully you can manage the production time (Drained production time) in the office.
  6. Allocating your overburden work to the other colleagues makes you feel less burden and never think delegating work to some other person is not going to indicate that you were a feeble professional. Although being an expert sometimes it is not so easy to take all of the things on his/her own shoulders. So, sharing the work with the team whom you can trust well and feel they are capable by that you can avoid unnecessary stress or work pressure on you and also you can meet the deadlines on time. 
  7. You can use your idle time while travelling to office in the cab/car or while walking on the streets near the office premises or where ever you feel you are little free then don’t waste time try to plan when to have snacks/dinner for that day, plan for any urgent meetings for that day to attend.  
  8. Don’t try to do multi-tasking because as a human we can focus only one aspect of the job at a single point of time or moment. So, if you try to focus on multiple things at a same time sometimes you may finish the task correctly but, most of the times you stumble at work and results in confusion which makes more in delay of the project submission.
  9. When you achieve something like award or promotion in the office then try to celebrate it with the team by putting it on your team members outlook calendar so that you can check for their availability status and based on their availability you can manage your time in a proper way.

    Also while connecting with the people/team also helps in networking and which will be helpful in your future projects and further endeavors to finish them very easily with them.  
  10. Do regular exercise at least weekly five days for 30–45 minutes per day and eat healthy food and be energetic throughout the week days and try to take more rest on the weekends to lift up your energy levels to get ready for the next week days.
